The story of the Grills began in 1914, when Cunard
set out to offer something new: a dining room
at sea with the atmosphere of a private club.
The Aquitania’s Grill Room quickly became the
blueprint, available only to first-class guests and
admired for its intimacy and attentive service.
The idea evolved in the 1930s with the introduction of Verandah
Grills, continuing to draw the world’s most discerning travelers
– from Hollywood stars to London socialites. Celebrated not
only for their cuisine but for their convivial spirit, the Grills
became places where refinement defined every moment.
Guests were even encouraged to request special orders, a
tradition that endures today in the Queens Grill restaurant.
